Remove the entire axle and reboot it.

Or just buy a new axle which is faster and easier and no messing with grease.

I'm with FFDP. Replace the axle. You will thank yourself later.

Replacing the outer boot alone is a bit of a pain, since you have to separate the joint, clean it, and reassemble it. Inner joints are simple, since there is no joint to disassemble, which also makes it easier to clean. If you do both boots at the same time, you can get away with not having to separate the outer joint, making it easier. I replaced the inner boot on mine when it ripped, since it was so straightforward. I'd say either you replace both boots or replace the whole axle. At that point, even I would just put a new axle in.

I guess ? Whenever I have them out , I would warranty them. On the 2nd attempt Napa said its a one-time exchange ?

Next time pry down on the top of the tie rod. It will keep it from spinning so the nut will come off.
