I happened to be on RockAuto and noticed they have a new vendor for spoilers. I went to the manufacturers website and it seems they have quite a few options for our cars.

This is the link for the Pontiac section. http://www.darspoilers.com/pontiac

    ENJOY!

go to rockauto.com then look under "body" and click spoiler. They have a choice between primer and painted. The prices are fair as well.

They seem to only list the 97-03 Grand Prixs tho.

^ just went on rock auto and looked at the spoilers. It seems that they have three but one of them is out of stock and it doesn't have a picture. Is the spoiler part#FG049 on rock auto the SD spoiler?? Anyone know? Thanks

I think the SLP gen 1 spoiler is the same as the SD spoiler, which is not these. You can look at the SLP gen 1 on 3800performance.com to compare.

Ok, thought they were. There is two on 3800performance one just says SLP spoiler and one says SLP GTX gen 2

Either way the ones on Rock Auto are the same ones list as "factory style" on pfyc.com; they're even the same pictures of them.

the gen 1 is the "whale tail" spoiler. Looks like the SD but has rounded edges instead of the pointed ones.

Yeah, she went buhbye last July. I still miss it from time to time, honestly. Mostly the fact that it was paid off, lol. But I do love the SS bunches.

I have some information any potential buyers may be interested in, turns out that the GEN1 knockoff is not a knockoff after all, see my email correspondence with spoiler express and Dallas Automotive Restyling.
To Dallas Automotive Restyling and cc to Spoiler Express:

    To whom it may concern,

I purchased one of your spoilers through Spoiler Express for my GTP. I was very impressed with the quality and color match until I installed the spoiler. The rear of the spoiler (taillight side) fit extremely well. The thin side (rear window) was totally the opposite. Once mounted there is a large gap between the spoiler and the trunk lid. There have been other people having the same problem on the forum I belong to. I have posted pictures but not made any comments about the fitment of the spoiler on the forum yet. I have determined that I can drill and add four more self tapping screws to pull this part of the spoiler flush. I believe that your mold needs to be revised. Here is the link to Club GP and the other members that have posted the same problem. http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/tm.as...mode=1&smode=1
I choose your spoiler over the still available SLP spoiler mainly because of the pre-painted option. If I would have known of the fitment issues, I would have chose the other way. I hope this problem can be addressed.

Travis from Spoiler express emailed DAR and this was the reply form Johnny@DAR

    quote:

    Travis,

I can tell you this much. We have been making that wing for years now, in fact I was the one making for SLP back in the day! The wing is very large and does have a "sweet spot" on the deck lid. It looks like his placement is rather close as the front of the wing fits fine. Along the thin part there is a gap for sure. All of our glass wings have sheet metal in them and when you screw them in with the sheet metal screws it closes the gap if you will. On forums like this one I have learned that you cant win once a negative post is placed. Numerous other members actually came to my rescue if you read on.

We only have one mold and the next part will be the exact same as this one. I feel with a good installer that knows the flexibility of fiberglass would have had this puppy down the road, however he seems to be pretty sure it wont happen. If he wants we can send him another unit and issue a call tag for defective. However, if the next one has the same issues I will not be able warranty it as we do sell about 12-15 per month with a very low return rate.

    Johnny

In my reply I mentioned that their instructions (DAR) should be more model specific like stating that you will have a gap, but you can tighten the bolts without fear of pulling out of the fiberglass because of the internal metal structure. I also stated that I would hope that the hole placement could be improved upon.

I would just like to note that not only did Spoiler Express offer the best price for the Gen1, their support has been excellent in this matter.
