Alright guys, hopefully the last of my questions for ya in the seeming endless journey to come as close as we can to perfection with our cars.
I only get 8 PSI of boost, on a gen V blower with a 3.1" pulley, I have either the equivalent of either the X-P Hot or the NIC from ZZP... I don't recall which, I will try to find out tomorrow, but Comp Cams sent me one at a discounted price after my original sheared off in the engine that was essentially the same grind as one of those two.
I also have a northstar throttle body, full exhaust system replaced with a Borla, 2.25" intercooler, 42# injectors, stock heads, and I'm using the N/A engine block, so higher compression... I think that is all that should pertain to the boost...
I believe I should be making a significant amount more than 8 PSI right? I would think more along the lines of 12-13 easy...
Also, how noticeable is valve float? I believe I have aftermarket springs, since they are taller than the stock ones... However since they came with the car when I got it I don't know exactly what the pound rating on them is... I'm debating on just buying new springs from ZZP so I know exactly what is in there.
Another thing, I'm burning some oil now... I assume it is the valve seals, so I am replacing those tomorrow... The only other thing that could make the engine burn oil would be a stuck ring right?
And lastly, how noticeable would it be to drop pulley sizes? I would like to go down to at least a 2.8 from the 3.1... Just not sure if it would be worth it.
Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated - as once these issues are resolved - my car should be golden!
