    Hey guys i have a 02 GTP and lately I have noticed that sometimes when you turn the steering wheel mostly to the left but sometimes right the horn goes off!! and when i first start the car my OnStar goes all wack I would just unplug the fuse but i hate doing stuff half ass i want to find out why it is doing this and what i can do to fix it? Any help would be great!!!!

    The horn issue is common in these cars. Mine hasn't done it in a couple of years. I don't think there's a fix for it. Unless it happens often, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Can you be more specific about what OnStar is doing when you start the car? Your 2002 has analog OnStar, which is no longer supported. You wouldn't lose anything by pulling the fuse.

    Well the horn honks almost every times i turn the wheel after i start the car and the OnStaer will come on and say "welcome" and then ask for a voice comand and then go away ?

    sounds to me you have a wire in the steering column UNDER the air bad that is worn through and is cause the horn to short.


    I would be willing the bet that is the problem!!!!

    Can you take the air bag out to get at it? ( I have never had this steering wheel apart)
