I've got a small "blowout" on my driver's side muffler (05 GP GT). The drone is just awful on the highway and in low rpm's in general, so as a short term fix (1-2 weeks max) would JB Weld suffice? It's a small "flap" blow out on the top of the muffler that I can feel and cover with my hand, I'll drop it off the hangers tomorrow for a better look. Edit: Or that exhaust wrap stuff auto parts stores sell, it only needs to last until I get a new muffler so the drone doesn't give me a headache.

Once I have the cash I'll order a new muffler and have a shop weld it on place. We have a MIG setup at school (2 year trade school) but I don't feel I have enough experience to lay a bead that will last and not form more leaks.

Also, any recommendations for mufflers? Looking for anything quiet or close to stock since our 3.8's generally sound like garbage, maybe Borla?

For thine is the Cam, The Piston, and The Rod, Forever and ever (or until they break). Amen.

I had that kind of thing happen on my '96 Grand Prix. I went to the local hardware store and got a piece of aluminum flashing and then riveted it and used the really long hose clamps (worm gear straps) to go around the whole muffler. It worked out pretty good at keeping the db level down.

Totally N/A - Mods: 18" Mustang GT wheels, leather scented air fresheners, medallion hanging from rearview mirror, custom tool box holder in trunk, and air horns in place of the factory honkers.

If its only 1 to 2 weeks till you can get some muffs i say dont waste your time on the repair now. Just turn up the tunes for now. As for muffs the XS borlas would be nice but are pricey. If you want to source them locally on the cheap maybe try the thrush turbo or dynomax turbo mufflers youll need the outlet to be 2" cause the stock diameter exhaust pipe back there is 1 7/8"
