    Hello all,

This will be my first post here so be gentle please, but I have a 2004 Grand Prix GT 3800 Series 3, and the battery died. I bought a new battery, but now when I start it up, the engine "chugs" and the RPMs cycle between ~700-1500 really quick. It does this when I'm driving anywhere above about 40mph as well. On my way home from work today, it stalled out. Could this be an alternator issue since the battery is brand new, or what else could it be?

    Thank you in advance.

Does the DIC in the dash tell you the volts of the alternator??

The 5 button DIC does, you can check there to see if the voltage output is low.

Otherwise it kinda sounds like something different is going on. Maybe bumped a vacuum line off or something. Hard to say without me standing in front of it.

I only have the 3 button DIC which doesn't display Voltage unfortunately. I will check hoses to see if something got knocked lose with the battery replacement.
