ok thanks..you need to be careful you know to much for your own good. the mechanics mafia is going to get you.. may want to check for a black van outside your house
i started the car today. I let it idle for 5 mins then turned it off.so maybe its good. ill grab another resistor next time im at pick n pull. thanks scotty
ya in the engine bay fuse box got it. will bending the tab out and running it like that put added stress on the fuel pump? picknpull has a few gtps in there yard
no, people have run it like that for many a years with no problems.
Check your vacuum line from your throttle body to your map sensor. Sounds too simple to be true, I know. Replace the crappy plastic ones with rubber. I bet that has something to do with it.
On the resistor.. it's the same GP or Regal.
It's this connector
Here's a picture of the whole car
and the wiring goes behind the washer tank
Because GM never thought it would burn up, three bolts hold the tank in place, then one more and the resistor can be removed
However.. the replacement from GM gets bolted to the center top of the firewall. Reality is.. many of us have bent the tab and smiled. Since we have a pressure regulator, that takes care of the issue. A fuel pump hotwire kit runs the pump in high speed all the time. So there's no worries overall of running in high speed mode. My Regal has been that way for 2+ years now.
CPS is Camshaft Position Sensor to be technical. Most here will know you are talking about the CKPS which is the CranKshaft Position Sensor. And yes.. you need to pull the balancer.
Here's the how to with pics.

why not just chop the resistor off and twist the 2 wires together? hotwire kit just gives you a plug with a wire that just loops back to the other wire.
my washer bottle is inside the car and the resistor is just floating around. i didnt really know what it was i thought it was a pump for the washer fluid. ohmymy
