I tried searching and read up in a few forums/google results but nothing is giving me a concrete answer. Apologies in advance if this has been answered.

Car is a 2000 GTP. Last week the check engine light popped up well cruising. I'm not going WOT as its slick as hell on every road around here. Greaaaat. Parked the car and was going to get it scanned in the AM. Woke up without a code.

Drove it fine for a week without a code. Today it popped up again. I had enough tracking down scan tools and went out to buy one. It read P0332 Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2)

Does this mean my sensor is malfunctioning or I'm getting knock? I've never had a problem before. I'm running togs with a catted down pipe and always 91 octane. It definitely does not sound like engine knock. It runs great without any noise at all.

Ill check around and make sure its not some frayed wires or anything, but the fact that it went away and now is just coming back worries me. How does the car tell you if you're knocking? Is this the indicator that I am in fact knocking? I had an 01 GT that had some HORRIBLE top end knock. The top end was starved of oil and she seized up on me. No codes ever popped up other than the LOW OIL *too late you're toast* light.

I have an aeroforce sitting here that I have to install. I better get on it sooner rather than later.

    Thanks guys.

Potential causes for a P0332 DTC include (but are not limited to): The knock sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced There is a wiring open/short/fault in the knock sensor circuit The PCM/ECM has failed

I was hoping you would reply Scotty. So it's just an issue around the sensor/wiring. I just need to make sure I'm not knocking or the car will sit until it's sorted out.

sounds like that knock sensors not working, so you may not know if your getting kr or not.

it sounds like the wire is bad or the sensor, not sure if thats the rear or front sensor tho. the rear one's wire gets clipped to the p/s pump, it can be damaged if you dont know its there when changing the pump.

I'll dig around a check the wiring. Thanks Scotty. When your motor is knocking how does the car alert you?

kr is picked up and read by the pcm via the knock sensors.

The car won't throw a CEL for KR. What it will do is pull timing and kill power in the engine to try and eliminate the KR. You have exactly what you need to monitor KR (the Aeroforce), so I don't see why it's still in the package and not on your ride
