Hi guys. been having some problems with my 97 GTP. So I have been going through the different vac lines and connections to see if there is a leak. I pulled the rubber hose off the evap vacuum switch(the one that goes to the purge canister) and it was plugged with some shiny black flakes and when I crushed them up they smelled chemically not like gas. Could these have come from the purge canister? Cleared out the hose the car still isnt running great. Any tips would be great. Thanks guys

While your in that area check your fuel filler pipe. If there are any rotted holes it will throw an evap code.

I have been looking for my leak and cant find it either. I going to have a smoke test done on my 97 and get that annoying light off.

does a smoke test do an entire vacuum system? like fuel filler into the engine bay or just engine bay vacuum lines. What do you think it cost?

I think its usually in the $100.00 range. It will test all of it.
