I'm a little confused here. You posted in F body which happens to be firebird camaro and you are talking about a grand prix that could be a 3.1 or 3.8. Please help us assist you.
Yeah I realized that after I posted it. Sorry. It's a 3.8
I was told they were blown so I replaced them. I've already gotten grilled plenty for it too.
Lol ok yeah... HG's are extremely rare to fail in a 3800.. I've never actually heard of them failing. But anyways, TPS? Any check engine lights? Any missed electrical plugs? Coolant/Oil both look good and not mixed up?
Any codes? Post em up
Yeah on here I hear it's not common but other places I hear it's common. Oh well always good to have new stuff in there right. No check engine light is on. All plugs are in and fluids aren't mixed.
No codes either. I'm like 100% stuck
Doesn't look too bad to be
I'm a girl. No judging. I mean when I took everything apart I cleaned it up a bit...could have probably done better but I was more focused on cleaning the heads and everything else.
Ok.. so you did the HG's. Which means the battery was unhooked.
If it's running decent, but won't hold idle. It may have forgotten it. Start the car and put it in gear. Hold it still with yoru foot on brake and keep the engine running with your other foot. Do this for say a full minute. slowly let off throttle and see if it holds itself.
Happens from time to time.
Tried that. Now it started smoking a bit from around the front exhaust manifold but it could be from a little bit of spilled oil from yesterday
Could it be my heads theirselves?
Girl or no girl, you still did the work and .... it's done. Now it just needs to get running well.
Smoking from the engine a little after doing so much work is normal. When working oil and what not will get on the exhaust and once it gets up to temp it'll smoke for a couple of minutes.
Has holding it in gear helped at all? Any change?
No nothing. It sounds great when I rev it but once I'm off the gas it dies. I'll post a video

Won't let me post it directly on here. Watch it when you can and let me know what u think
