Hello guys I'm new to the forum and having an issue that someone here i hope can help me out with. I just bought an 2004 g/p gtp and it will not start up right away if it has sat for awhile. I have found that if i turn the key on and crank, then turn key off and then back on and wait for the fuel pump to shut down and then crank it will fire up. if i shut it down it will fire right back up no issue, but let it sit for 15 mins or so and have to follow the procedure I described above. We have replaced just about everything, coil packs, controler, throttle body, wires plugs.....What am I missing????

Thanks for the help in advance.

    Check your fuel pressure.

    Agreed, sounds fuel pressure related.

Ok well I get no fuel pressure after sitting. So is there a regulator that is gone out then. Where and what is the best way to fix it?

not sure if the 04 up cars have a fpr. dead fuel pump can cause this tho.

But the car runs fine once I get the pressure built up. Been looking and it looks like the regulator is built into the fuel pump is that right. So it looks to me that I need to order a feul pump and replace it and problem goes away????

no idea, but if you just lose f/p, the pump is at fault 99% of the time.

you can just buy a new pump on line and replace the pump in your canister. much cheaper vs buying the whole pump and canister.
