Hey guys, I'm just wondering what gas is the best gas for our cars, other than e85 because I don't think its available in my area..

As high of octane as you can get!! If you really want to know if you have E85, get one of the free "Ethanol Locator" apps for smart phones. Mine picks up a lot of additional E85 stations that I had never found or knew of before in my area.

Without knowing what you drive I can't say.

A L36/L26 motor only needs 87 to run normal. A L67/L32 needs 91+ because it has a supercharger.

If going for all out performance and it's ability to reduce knock for pump gas, find 93 or 94 octane gas.

E85 is another topic that I don't care to talk about.

Oh and a canned tune.. I was getting 7 degrees of knock. I was on the same plugs for like three years.. So I did a tune up with iridium's NGK tr6 wires and coils.. Part throttle and half throttle are so much better now , but full throttle still is showing 7 degrees of knock.. Oh and I'm on a 3.4 pulley..

I'd pulley up if you see that much at WOT with running 91+ fuel.

Either it's real knock or something is rubbing the exhaust to make it think knock is going on.

I've been told that with my mods , I should easily be running a3.4.. When I goe the can and supporting mods, I got a canned dhp pcm.. Could it be that the tune sucks?

Do you have HPTuners? If so, I can aend you my email so you can send me your tune file and I can pull it up and take a look. Could be the tune. Depending on what cam you have, a 3.4 should easily be within reach, if not smaller with no KR. Something seems odd about that with your setup.

Airport BP? that one has it. Im in DC and I only have one station here out in BFE on Wisconsin ave. However even only having one to deal with it STILL completely worth it.

Have an HPT tuner here in DC with me yes im pretty sure I could do a few mild things, but by no means claim to be a tuner.

And for the E85... Meh gave it a shot. Best off use 93 then and a solid tune.

Try Torco additives then, or have a 55 gal drum of ethanol dropped at your door and make your own mix... There's always a way if you want it bad enough. Hell, you could even MAKE your own ethanol, being from Virginia, I'm sure there's some people down there with the knowledge

Lastly, 7* of knock is ok on stock, but with a smaller pulley you're pushing things, better save up for an engine swap, just sayin!

Thanks for all the input guys.. I just got a p0420 code so I think I'm going to replace both o2 sensors as they are original equipment, and then probably take it to Virginia speed for a complete tune.. They tune allot of ls cars, so I'm hoping they can do something for me..
