I have a 98 gtp which has the performance shift mode in the shift knob and since I have had it when I click the button nothing happens I know that there is supposed to be a blue light that appears on the dash when you go into the mode because I have a friend with the same car. It doesn't drive different and that blue light never lights up...just not sure what to do anybody have the same problem or know how to trouble shoot it?

    Thanks guys

Test the shifter knob switch to ensure it's working. Look at the wiring in the console for any obvious breaks. For some reason the wiring in a GP console suffers more often than any other vehicle I've ever seen.

OK you were right there are broken wires I took the shifted off and there are two words that almost look as if they were cut one red and one red and black and there is a plastic piece the the wires they were connected to are stuck in Amy idea what this is? Or could I just cut the wires below it and reatatch them?

Not sure what you are describing. Make the wires connect and likely you'll have your worthless button functioning again. I say worthless because it honestly doesn't do much.
