Hello,

I have installed the Bulldog Security remote start system but when pushing the remote start, I receive no response.
The Car is a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix
The starter is the RS102E and using the 791 Bypass Module as the car uses a PK3 transponder. I've got some questions below as to possible issues and would appreciate any additional advice on how to troubleshoot this.

Below are some questions I have:
1. Does the Transponder loop from the 791 bypass module have to be inside the plastic outer covering around the ignition area? I have placed it over the key input for testing purposes with plans to put it inside the plastic (but outside the manufactures "Factory antenna receiver ring" once the car is remote starting.

2. I have only connected the hood switch to ground as my car does not have a hood switch that I'm aware of.(it's not mentioned on the car's wiring diagram) Could this be a root cause of the starter not working?

3. The remote starter says to connect the "Red with black stripe wire from the 16-pin harness to the" Factory alarm shut down wire. In the Grand Prix wiring diagram from the bulldog security web-site, it says there should be an "orange/black factory alarm disarm" wire in the drivers kick panel. No such wire exists. An orange and separate black wire do exist going to a small box (2 inch by 1 inch) which says security on it, but there isn't one orange/black wire ANYWHERE under the driver kick panel. Do you have any advice either as how to troubleshoot or what to do in general?

4. On the 791 Bypass instructions for transponder instructions, I am confused by step 3 (connect the red wire from the module to a constant +12v supply) and step 7 (when bypassing GM's transponder (PK3), attach the Red wire not to +12v constant, but to the heavy gauge YELLOW WITH BLACK STRIPE wire from you remote starter which is connected to the starter/crank" I did step 7 for my car, is that approach correct? The steps seem strange to me unless I am correct in reading step 7 as specific to the PK3 for GM and that step 3 is specific to all other makes/models with a transponder.

5. Do I need to "erase the memory" on the bypass module prior to ever getting the starter to work the first time? I've done the erase memory steps as described, but would like to be able to eliminate this potential root cause if erasing the memory is unneeded prior to ever getting the unit to work once.

6. For the Parking lights connection, I connected to the brown wire per the grand prix wiring diagram. The wiring diagram says it is a (+) which would mean the dip switch should be IN on the remote starter unit. Yet, I'm a bit confused as the tester light shows red and green when the parking lights are on. Should it only show red? I want to make sure I shouldn't have the dip switch set to negative.

Thank you for help on any question(s).
