You will not need a fan...my cooler is standalone for 20Kmiles with max temps in the 160-170range. And thats with 100+degree temps here in AZ

Well I am running mine in series. Worst case if it doesn't cool enough the lines are already run and all it will take is cutting the outlet line and barbing into the external cooler.
Anyway, cooler is in place, lines are ran and I am in the middle of putting the bumper cover back on. Am struggling getting the metal "tabs" (if you will) to snap back into the fenders. Figured I needed to step inside and cool off for a minute since the heat was getting to me anyway. Will go back out in a few to attempt again.
I cannot complete the install at this time. I ordered 3/8 double barbs and what I ended up getting appear to be 5/16 and I do not feel comfortable that they will be secure enough. Also the 3/8 fuel injection clamps I got are not big enough either. They are supposed to fit up to 5/8 outside diameter hose, but when the hose "swells" from being pushed over the cooler they don't fit. I assume the same will happen when I get the right size barb. I'll just double clamp using worm clamps.
Once I get the bumper cover back on I can at least drive it since I didn't cut the stock line yet. I'll go get the right barbs and small worm clamps so I can cut and splice in the external cooler.
Wouldn't you know, I take a 5 minute break, walk out, assess the situation, make another attempt and the damn thing almost falls into place.
Now at least I can drive it to take back the stuff that isn't going to work and pick up stuff that I can finish up with.
Will report temperatures once it is hooked up.
You had to take your bumper off? I was gonna try and go through the bottom
You MIGHT be able to do it that way but I'll tell you that there is no way I would have gotten mine installed with the cover in place. Not only did I take off the bumper cover, but I took off the header panel and took the top two bolts of the center bar out to get it in place.
Mine is a 404 though so it is a pretty big cooler.
I got the 1405
Damn, that one is like 2.5" thick I think you are going to have issues fitting that without modifications.
The Hayden 1405? I'll make it fit somehow I read on here that was the one to get

Weird the ad I read on Amazon says the 1405 is 2.5" thick.
Nevermind, the one I read was a Hayden OC-1405.
Either way the 1405 is bigger than my 1404. Its taller at least. I personally wouldn't recommend doing it without removing the bumper cover. Removing it really isn't that bad.
Take out the headlights. Remove the 5 plastic pins that attach the top of the cover to the core support. There are 6 7mm bolts to come out of the splash guard on each side, 2 of which are actually on the bottom of the cover. 2 bolts that go through the bumper cover into the fender. 1 nut that in the same area. There are 4 (I think) plastic pins that come out of the bottom of the center of the cover and its ready to pop out
If you have to take the header panel off there are 6 total bolts holding it on.
Its really not that hard, and you will end up thanking yourself for the extra room you have.
I'll have to buy the barb fittings I just realized I thought this one came with it
You might need more hose as well. Mine only came with 4 feet of hose. I got another 4.5 feet.
That and hose clamps. I guess ill order those stuff sooner than later
Stealthee you have a pm

Will these work for fittings
You can go to auto zone and buy the fittings just look in the tool aisle you'll see them by the tire stuff
Nice work guys. I will reassess my sketch and revise if it's wrong. Sounds like the install is coming along :)
Anyone know how much fluid I'll lose when I do this? Top it off with a bottle of Lucas and I'll be good?
I just added about 1/2 qt to top mine off.
