Ok I tried doing some searching but I couldnt find and exact scenerio like mine. Anyway here we go, I had a misifre code saying misfire in cylinder 2. My plugs and wires are new(ac delco pro iridiums, moroso wires). checked the plugs anyway, they look good. I switched the coilpack with the one below it. I then got a multiple misfire code. my car is a 01 gtp with catted dp and intake and 87000 miles.
p.s. this may not make a difference but i like to give best description, but i have a bad exhaust leak. I mean settin car alarms off bad. (hole between the cat and resonator.

    thanks

Try swapping coil packs to rule those out. Listen to your #2 injector - it should tick like the others. You can use a broomstick or similar long pipe and hold it to your ear if you don't have a steth.

If neither is bad then take it to the dealer unless you care to remove the valve cover and replace your broken valve spring (my guess).

Well like I said, I switched the coil pack for cylinder 2 with the coil pack below(I think its 4 and 1) and thats when I got the multiple misfire code.

I'd move it with another coil and see what happens.

I'd say either a coil is bad or the ICM under the coils is at fault.

Perplexing...Are you absolutely certain you connected your plug wires correctly to the coil packs?

Just double check - Because it happens.
