The other day my check engine light came on and it read code P0332(bad rear knock sensor). I had been noticing terrible MPG, sluggish acceleration, random jumps in RPMs, a sudden quick jump in acceleration every few seconds(cruising and I can feel the car pull forward for a second then go back to normal and the do it again, nothing noticeable on speedometer), and I can hear a misfire(no code).

Does anyone have any tips on replacing the rear knock sensor on a 04 GP gt(just hit 70k)? Also, is there anything thing else I should look at that could be causing this issue?

Make sure that the wiring to the sensor is still ok and connected. Could just be loose.

Might also want to remove and clean your TB and MAF.

I got the new sensor in and I might now have tetanus... I lowered the sub frame and pushed the old sensor to the top of the transmission, I then reached my arm along side of the exhaust/cat(passenger side) and grabbed the old sensor. Then I literately tossed the new one in and it fell into place, aim towards the driver side when throwing/dropping it.

They do require a tq spec, just so you know. Needs to be 14 ft lbs, too tight and it will read wrong.
