Hey guys I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with the sunroof. We have noticed on big rains that the floor is soaked both on the driver side and the passenger side, our first instinct was to look at the windshield as see if it was leaky. We went to gerber collision and glass and they took a look at it and responded that the windshield seals were fine but the sunroof does have drainage pipes leading through the roof of the car and down the a-pillars. After that comment was made we took a look at the roof and noticed water damage around the sunroof area and some on the a-pillars. Does anyone know how to clean out these drainage areas? Any help is appreciated.

I was thinking of going with the compressed air pushing the blockage out....but where do I connect that?! I'm not sure where the drainage goes down to? Any insights on how/where I could do this?

open the front doors you'll see a rubber tube sticking out near the lower hinge. blow the air up that tube.

    heres a pic.

thanks to ithurtz and his door hinge repair.

You don't want to shoot air down them, it may disconnect them. They make a tool that will clean them out. I had a G6 and used air to clean them out and they came disconnected. That resulted in the car sitting at the dealer for 3 days while the carpet dried out...the whole floor of the car was filled with water.

    Just my .02

You're better off like Scotty said, blow up from the door and not down from the roof. They may not come disconnected that way.

thanks for the info, cool regal btw. I had a 1987 Buick Regal Turbo T WE4 edition about 4 months ago, looked the same as the grand national/same engine. I use the grand prix as a winter car and whenever my other cars run out of gas haha

yeah, dont blast 100 psi up the tube, short little bursts will do.

I've had good luck by running some weedeater "string" through them. My Shindaiwa uses the .095 or .105 and that works great.
