Well I got new airbags for my 05 Grand Prix that I'm rebuilding. And I was gonna put the new ones in but kinda was skeptical about them deploying when I plug them up. What all needs to done with he front sensor. It looks fine does it have to be reset or replaced?

un hook the battery and then change it.

thats how ya do it lol

just plug in and lock the new one in place with the battery unhooked. then turn the key to run for the first time from the pass seat, how i did mine, dont want to eat one of them in the face for no reason lol

The system will check itself after the swap and the light will come on if anything else is bad. And it won't activate the system if it fails the self-test. Theres often clockspring damage, but I haven't worked on your year GP. New impact sensor(s) in the wreck area are cheap insurance. Usually GM has an official list of what to replace after deployment. But its tough to blow one by mistake. Don't be suprised if more replacement components are needed. An advanced scan tool like a GM one can pinpoint the problem if there is one, but simple tools may not be as much help.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

if the airbag light was on thats a clock spring for sure. as well as radio controls not working.

the only sensor is under the pass side seat. airbag module. only crash sensor in the whole car. those go bad, mine did after my car got flooded a bit.

or corrosion can form on the case and keep it from grounding to the car body.
