I have 2001 grand prix I guess its time for struts and springs. Last time I drove the car it was fine. Today I get in and hear a loud roaring noise as I drive. I check the wheels and the rear driver side spring is rubbing the top of the tire. The very bottom where the string starts is out of the strut and hitting the tire.

It doesn't sag in the front that I have noticed. But that sounds about right in regard to the potholes here, and I know I have hit some huge ones. I guess I know what my weekend will consist of. Thanks

He said the rear spring is rubbing the tire. What does that have to do with the front end of the car? I would guess either the spring broke, as mentioned, or the spring broke through the bottom of the strut mount area. Something similar happened on my brother's Subaru . Good luck on repairs
