my hud has vibrated way up my windshield and the up and down feature dont work anymore. i can kinda knock it down but im looking for the right way to fix it. can i get it back on track where i can move it up and down?? do i have to pull the dash off to get to the internal features???

I dont think I have ever run across anyone ever mentioning that issue before. But to get to the internal stuff you do have to take the molding and stuff on top of the dash to get to the components, but not the whole dash.

my alignment was WAY off and the back tires had flat spots :/ it had a pretty good woble past 60. one day i just noticed it wasent there any more. i got looking around and i had to sit way down in my seat to see it.

i can tap it and it will come back down some but it dont have the up and down feature. im guessing it got knocked off track.

anything i should be aware of when messing with the hud???

Sounds like a remove it, throw it away, and put another one in job.

if you can get it apart and back together without ruining it ...get it set at the level you want it and superglue it in place.

thats what i had in mind. well not the superglue part but just to get it back in place and try to lock it down there. cause i really dont need it to move, would just like it back in my view. so yea maybe some superglue.

I got ya covered. No superglue required. A guy over at GPONA had the same problem. It's a result of the mirror inside the HUD coming loose from the spring, and when you adjust the display up or down the spring and the mirror are the pieces inside the HUD which allow up and down adjustment of the HUD display. Hope that makes sense. Anyways, take a look at this write up, it should answer your question. HUD Repair Write-Up

I recently took mine all apart in my 04.

Just pull the panel over the Instrument cluster, Pull the Cluster, Pull the DIC, and then pull the panel that covers the top of the HUD. The light sensor and theft deterant lamp is connected to this piece. Also there is some foam lining the end of this panel tword the windshield.

For me instead of using superglue or trying to repair the plastic I just tapped in two small washers over the plastic piece that holds the spring. That way I know it will never break again.

All in all the job took about an hour and a half.

    Good luck
