Looking to replace the exhaust on my stock 05 GXP; it's starting to get rusty at 53,000 miles. I've had it since new and plan to keep it for some time, so I am looking at stainless cat back systems. I am most concerned with resonance/drone at cursing speed. Anyone replace their GXP sys yet with a SS system that they are happy with?

By the way, had my first problem this week since taking ownership in June 2005; the serpentine belt tensioner broke. Can't complain about the quality of this car - love it!

We talking surface rust or actual rust holes?

The stock piping isnt anything special and my 14 year old mufflers with 130k on them with every winter behind them still arent rusted away, no holes or anything.

Because at 53,000 miles the exhaust would be the last thing I'd expect to be an issue.

Good point! Just surface rust at this point. Maybe the stock exhaust has more life than I am expecting.

If you do replace it the magnaflow cat back is nice.

Appreciate it! That's the way I was leaning too. I think I am going to replace the system now rather than wait for the stock sys to degrade further. The extra few ponies will be welcome too.
