I have a 98 Grand Prix SE that when trying to start loses all power to vehicle. I had to disconnect the battery and try to reset vehicle in order to get the key out with out manually ejecting it. Could this be a Ignition Control module failure. I have power initially(all interior lights on etc), but after turning the key to start lose all power. I tested the battery and it has 12.5-13 volts. Any ideas?

clean the battery terminals then make sure they are tight. and check your grounds on the tranny bell housing.

Test the battery when you put the HUGE load on it when you start the car. If it drops to near nothing, that can be the issue aswell.
