Randomly today my car started acting up. It's parked in my driveway so I had to put it in reverse. I got about 5 feet down the driveway and all of a sudden the tires completely lock up and I come to a screaching halt. It's sitting on an incline and won't budge even when in neutral. It's almost like the ebrake is stuck on , but it will roll a few feet before it stops.

This was completley random this morning, however I thought I noticed some clunking sounds coming from underneath the car yesterday. Thoughts?

sounds like the differential is locked up. theres a pin that falls out and then eats the gears. good news is its fixable. should it be that.

definitely something that's over my head, i assume this requires dropping the tranny? this is a $1500 car. i could only imagine i'd be spending at least half that much on labor for something like this

it was just done by a member here. dont think hes a tranny pro. but he got it done with the tranny in the car on his back pretty sure.

It can be done in the car relatively easily. Are the front wheels seeming to lock up or the rear wheels?

Ended up being a caliper bracket bolt that came loose causing the caliper to hang up. Put a new bolt in and problem solved.
