Hey all. I have a quick question. A while ago, I noticed on my 2004 GT, the rear defrost works only intermittently, and usually only after the car has warmed up. I also have to hold the button down for a few seconds before it'll click on. I tested the relay and fuse and booth check out. I took the relay into the house over night (to warm it) and plugged it in the morning, still no dice. For giggles, I also put the relay in the freezer for a few hours (at -5 F) and it worked fine when cold.
The light on the defrost button does not turn on either, until it actually clicks on. Does the LED power come from the relay? I'm trying to narrow it down. From my experience, if its not the relay or the fuse, usually you have to replace the whole damn climate control for it. Any thoughts are where to go? I've heard of the ignition somehow controlling climate control issues, nothing that linked it to the rear defrost.
Oh, I also reseated the power connector on the fuse panel for good measure.
EDIT: Bonus question so that I don't make a new thread. It's been very cold around here, but I park in a 30 degree F garage. My car all winter, even when it's 20 degrees out, rarely gets above 130-140. I had a new t-stat this last summer, but I went ahead and put another new one in with no effect. The heat coming out the vents is hot, but the engine never gets up to full operating temp. There is also a noticeable temp drop at the vents from cursing at 1500 RPM to idle/coasting.
