Im looking at an 2001 Buick Regal LS, the body looks good and has minimal rust but the odometer is broken. Is there anyway I can find out the mileage at the dealership? Maybe shine a light at it or somehow plug a scanner in?

http://www.grandprixforums.net/showt...cluster+repair this is how to fix it. then you'll know what the miles are.

i also bought my regal with the cluster blacked out, last title said 160,000 so i figured it cant be much more then that, well it came back at 212,000.

its still logging miles, you just cant see it.

    not really.

talk the seller into sending it out to be rebuilt, ebay has people who fix them for rather cheap. i got my auction for 40 bucks iirc.

mines been working perfect for over 3 years now since i got it back.

Ill just double check everything and take a chance but if I get it ill do that with the odometer, hopefully its under 200k. Thanks Scotty!

In some vehicles the mileage is stored in either the instrument cluster or PCM and can be read with an OEM level scan tool. I am not sure about on the regal though. I know I had a Saturn that I could see the mileage on my scanner.
