    its the actuator, they turn the door.

    take them off turn the little knob by hand, hot is one way, cold the other. it only moves like a 1/2 inch, dont try to force it.

    you want a "blend door actuator". they are not cheap either. junk yard is the cheap/free even way to go. just grab 2 in case one dont work.

    go to a parts store web site and enter your cars info then search for the part. its easy.

    if you pull your bad one out, its got a part # on it. match it up to be sure. and once yours old one is out you can turn the knob to cold but it will be full time cold. no heat unless you turn it back to heat.
