I have some fluid leaking from the rack and pinion. I'm assuming it's power steering fluid, but I can't find the reservoir.

where in the Sam Hill Hell is it?

Locate alternator, then directly under it.

Worked like a charm, Thanks man! Now, since no fluid is hitting the stick cold, I know it's low. I also know where it's leaking.

It looks like a plug on the rack and pinion. Any of you guys changed a rack and pinion on one of these cars?

When I first bought mine I heard a whining noise coming from the car specifically when I was turning so I checked and sure enough power steering fluid was low. I topped mine off though and haven't had a problem since. So are you sure that it is power steering fluid leaking and not something else i.e. transmission fluid? If so, where do you see it leaking from?

It's coming from some sort of plug in the rack and pinion. I don't drive the car very much, but, my son said the steering was getting "sticky" which is what caused me to look. I wiped the wet stuff off and it's definitely coming from the rack.

Well, I added the Lucas, and she seemed to leak MORE than before until today. The reservoir is just a hair low, and we took a 100 mile ride, and not a drip. Yet.... Call it snake oil if you want to....

Used fuel treatment in my old f100, it screwed up my carb. Used tranny treatment on my monte, clogged my NEW tranny filter on top of causing it to leak worse than before

i bet your carb was already boinked, thats why you put the fuel treatment in the tank in the first place, then it cleaned the tank and lines and clogged the carb the rest of the way for ya.

clogged the tranny filter, so very doubtful.

Blew the powervalve, didnt buy the fuel treatment a friend had half a bottle and i figured y not. Besides, isnt lucas fuel treatment supposed to PREVENT crap from goin through the carb thas what it sed on the bottle
On the tranny issue, you can doubt all ya want but when i cracked it open i when tried to clear it out by blowing through it my ears popped and i saw spots for a min. Tried it on the filter that came with the jy raplacement tranny, was like blowin through a straw=lil resistance.
