Hey everyone. Ive got an 05 gtp that I'm dropping a cam in, going to a 3.4 pulley and zzp 3in downpipe. Are there and suspension mods that I should consider doing along with these mods or is the stock suspension alright for what I'm doing? Thanks!

Is it a comp g if not then you can upgrade the front and rear sway bar to the comp G's (similar to the GMPP kit) or switch to 97-03 control arms then upgrade to either the GMPP kit or dorman. Lowering the car is also another option.
Squirrels are my engine. I need a Ford Regal
    04 Comp G.

the rear trailing arms are super weak and the sway bars are undersized. doing those along with some lowering springs to get the center of gravity a little lower should show some vast improvements.

however, the tires and your alignment are going to make the most noticeable gains regardless of what you do.

Do you need anything special for the comp g sway bars? And as far as struts go, whats the better choice, springs or the adjustable ones?

the struts being adjustable means that the damping is adjustable, not the ride height.

coilovers would be ride height adjustable, which COULD use adjustable struts as well.

Wouldn't you need headers for a 3.4 and atleast a downpipe and a PLOG for a 3.5. So you don't chip a piston

Edit: sorry this is a suspension thread

i would first recommend installing the rear Addco swaybar first....thing makes the car handle sooo much better. Its a tid bit pricey but I cant complain for what it does. Literally night and day. Since our cars are FWD you want the rear to be pretty stiff to delete some of the understeer. But then again an upgrade is an upgrade so what you do will make a difference.

That's like a $200 bar. Vs getting the comp g front and rear can be had for much cheaper and is a noticeable difference.

The addco bar is not really that pricey if you look at other platforms, lol. The suspension is weak overall, you'll feel better no matter what you do. As mentioned, trailing arms, rear sway, new struts or coilovers even better, strut tower braces, ball joints/control arms, etc. they're all wearable items and degrade gradually that you don't notice until you replace stuff and then say WOW! Lol...

You didn't say where in NY nor how many miles on car, but if you're in the city, I wouldn't go too low with the suspension, nor too hard/stiff, you can thank me later. If not in the city and do some spirited highway driving, then lower away and tighten the hell outta things! : )

Yes a upgrade is a upgrade but there's so many options depending on what your wanting to spend. Personally I save the difference and upgrade the trailing arms and or add a stb to the combo.

    Trailing arms and sways.

Shocks, springs, rear links, new lcas, sways. I mean you could easily spend 5K there. Then another 2500+ on wheels and tires.

    Lol cars.

I did rear GMPP sway and Dorman boxed trailing, rear end tracks MUCH better around corners. Very happy.
Not to hi-jack your thread, but I threw in KYB Excel-G loaded struts..... Thing sits like a monster truck in regards to ride height now aha. Question is; could I just replace the loaded KYB springs to drop an inch or two and still use the Excel-G's? Anyone done this with the Excel-G loaded struts?

edit: mines an 2001, so no comp-G stuff..fyi.

you can put drop springs on those struts and run them, but you'll accelerate wear on them. they won't last 80k miles anymore.
