    so i got the new car. lets take it for a spin. i took it out on a 4 lane highway and did 2 passes at about 105- 110. the check engine light comes on. not blinking! any guesses?
    so far: borla catback exhaust, audio swap.
    waiting for warmer temps

    Could be one of a hundred things. Get the code read at Autozone or something.

    ok. i get the just of scanning. but are scanners universial or do you need a special type for my car?

    The purpose of OBD2 is to be a universal standard. Any scanner should be able to pull the codes that cause a check engine light.
