    Hey Fellas,
I ran into something recently that has been acting really strange... When driving, My speedometer would go down to 0, along with my fuel gauge, thus giving me the "low fuel" telltale. It would also act like the car is shutting off even though the engine is still running. My lights would go out for a minute and come back on, and the doors would lock on their own. Sounds all electrical. The only thing I had done recently was change my coolant elbows on this car because they were cracked and leaking coolant. I check the connections of the alternator wires and the battery's wires, Everything is snug. I'm suspecting a grounding issue... What's even more strange is... when all this stuff happens when driving, which happens only for a good minute, then goes away, I would check my battery status from the Drivers information center, the voltage would drop to 12.8v. Did the altenator die? or is it just not turned on at the time? It goes right back to 14.5V once the issue goes away. This is all really really recent. This only started after I took the alternator off... All the connections look good.. but is there a wire from the Harness that goes into the alternator that could be causing this? can the Altenator turn on wire cause this ?

Any help would be great.. this is freaking me out, because I'm instantly going to the conclusion that this might be a bad PCM.

    Thanks,
    Rob

I just want to add that I think I've solved the issue, As it turns out, I think the Battery terminals were pretty oxidized, I cleaned them and made sure it was a solid snug connection, as well as wire brushing the connections from the battery to the fuse box and alternator... the issue has been resolved for about a week. Go figure, something so simple like a crappy connection to the battery could cause all these little hairy issues. Lol. Just thought I should share.
