Hey guys, just got my turbo kit in and tune is getting close so I finally hit some boost. The service traction system light comes on about halve the accelerations. It first happened when I had the system turned on, after that I just turn it off now but the light still comes on. No DTC codes are coming up and I didn't find much online.

Also, I have a 9# spring in my waste gate if that makes a difference...

    Any ideas?!

Sounds like a wheel hub went poopy coincidentally with your turbo install. I bet you don't have ABS either.

I should have put a "smiley" to show sarcasm but the car is an '03 impala 3.8. I read that the hub might be the issue on another thread. How do I check for sure?

What do you mean it's the tune? I did the tune, and I know exactly what I changed. What would it have been? It started the first time I hit boost.

Yes sir. Still mostly stock. Changed ECT, tranny shift time/torque manage, FI duty times... Nothing else I can think of.

Did you mess with or hit the abs module or anything putting the kit in? I ruined a cruise control module doing a brake booster swap how I have no idea either.

I broke the brake fluid level sensor that's housed in the brake fluid reservoir. I don't see how that would do it though. I was going to fix it "when I get around to it" but I check my fluid weekly...

As of last night and this morning I do hear a rattle/shake like something is loose from the driver side tire area. It sounds like it's directly behind the driver side tire. The noise decreasing once vehicle is put in gear and is minimal if any noise once I'm moving.

Is it the service traction light or is it just the light coming on to indicate the traction control system is operating? Any wheel slip during the accelerations?

It's the "Service Traction System" and then the "Trac Off" light also comes on and stays on. Wheel slip is very limited if any, VERY minor as I don't generally take off hard.

I'd be turnining off the traction control when you plan on driving agressively in the future.

take the car to a garage, have them scan for for abs codes. yes they will charge you for this scan but its better then tossing cash at maybe's.

you can jack up each wheel lugs tight push and pull the top of the tire, if you feel play the hub is bad, while your there remove the plugs clean and put a dab of di electrical grease on the plug endsth, work them off and on a few time to work the grease in.

if all this checks out ok, get it scanned, thats all the free checks you can do with out guessing.

some how im thinking your tune has nothing to do with this problem.

After the first time it happened I turn traction control off now when driving fun.

As for the free checks, I will do. Thank you all!

so when you turn off the tc you can spin the wheels at will right?

you dont feel it pulling timing and slowing you down some? like the tc is still working? being you said you turn it off and the light comes on, what light, low traction?

from what I have seen...when you get service messages but no stored codes, it has been a programming/software problem.

You are checking the ebcm for dtc's...only a full function scan tool will pull chassis codes?
