Well I'm doing it! Just ordered 3 high quality gas cans off Amazon haha. I drove to the E85 station today to pick their brain a bit. I asked how long they've had it, how it sells, if they ever sell out, etc.
They've had it for 4 years and it sells very well. The clerk said a lot of Subaru guys often travel to get it and fill up gas cans LOL. Overall, the commute took me about 35 min each way.. 90% highway. Not too shabby..

Yeah usually bottom ends go on rebuilt motors for some reason. Stock blocks are pretty strong and another 40 or 50 hp should not be a problem for your motor. A good tune on e85 should result in little to no knock. One thing to keep in mind is that cold weather e85 is actually a different blend and not true e85. Cold weather "e85" has less ethanol. I don't remember if crbquist mentioned if he would be driving in cold weather or not.
I don't drive it much in the winter.. Maybe a few miles here and there to keep it moving, but that's about it.Quote:

The bottom end might be worried if you are up over 800whp.. even then I probably wont be too worried if you are shifting under 7k.

I've never heard that a stock chain is stronger than a roller chain and have a hard time believing that 90 lb springs are harder on a timing chain than 105's but I've also never scene any actual evidence to say either way. Rollmaster claims otherwise however... Good luck with your e85 conversionQuote:
