    I have a 2004 grand prix gtp and lost both sets of keys. I brought the car to a gm dealership and purchased 2 new keys and attempted to have them programmed. The tech couldnt do it and said the bcm wasnt responding and gm said it needed to be replaced for 830 dollars. Does this sound like im being given a run around or could it be thats what it needs. Ive never really had any issue with the bcm locks lights windows etc. only thing I ever noticed was for about a week straight all of the dic messages would continuously cycle and chime non stop until the cad was shut off

    Car* and the nonstop chime issue was about a year ago

    It was a spelling correction because the autocorrect on my phone spelled car cad for some reason

    I can't tell you on yours for sure but I'll tell you my story. It took me about 10 hours of combined time trying different combinations of the Passkey procedure to get it to work right with mine. I found about 5 variances on the net and mine only work with a variation of those. As far as the BCM, mine freaked out and chimed/beeped at me all crazy due to a low voltage issue once or twice on my old dying battery. I know it may not help a ton but put some time into it yourself and you'll likely figure it out.

    If i were to get a replacement bcm could i purchase a rebuilt one or grab one from a junkyard or does it have to be brand new straight from the dealer ive been told conflicting things as far as the bcm goes
