    whats up so im in the process of putting in my header ive read the how to threads ive removed everything put in my rear manifold and crossover also bolted up the rest of the exhaust now the only problem im having is the front manifold I find myself having to pull or pry the cross over towards my engine inorder to get the header on I can get like 2 or 3 bolts in but the rest wont line up seems the bottom bolts wont catch the thread im thinking its my fel pro gasket I might try the factory metal one tomorrow any suggestions ??? thanks for the help in adnace

    It's not the gasket. You put the header into the crossover before trying to tighten the bolts right?

    yup I can even put the header on the stud then insert it into the crossover or vice versa ill attempt it again today problem im having is one of the studs the driver side is snapped in the head I can get the snapped bolt in a couple of threads im gusessing who ever had the car before me snapped it and put it back will this affect the headers maybe cause a leak? is there a way to get the snapped bolt out ?

    The one on the pass side? If that's the only bolt not there you should be fine.

    no its on the driver side closest to the intake seems everything is fitting well now im just trying to figure out where the oil dipstick tube goes and where do I tighten it down to im looking for pics on the internet

    If you tightened the crossover to rear clamp, loosen it.
    It's not uncommon to pull the two studs at the ends of the heads in order for me to get the front started and pull itself over.
    If the gasket is on the wrong way it blocks a couple holes.

    So I got it all bolted in but its leaking directly from the head to header I don't want to keep torqueing down the nuts and snap another it sounds like the car is open headers I'm using the factory gasket because the felpro kept getting snagged on the header studs and bolt holes wouldn't line up I have gotten so fed up told my exhaust shop to take a look at it so they can fix it thanks for the pic dsmuts

    Go ahead..ask me how I know what you did.

    Been there, done that, had the old manifold laying there and checked the gasket against it to figure out what was wrong.

    well got my manifold stud replaced and no more leak lol had to pay 200 they had to remove the header and tap oput the stud that snapped now im getting leaks under the car it sounds like not sure if im supposed to have a gasket between the ubend and flex pipe

    There isn't a gasket between the ubend and flex. Take it apart use a bead of copper rtv around it then reinstall and make sure that your clamps are tight enough. Also I hope you use band clamps and not the clamps that actually come with them.

    I don't RTV it... instead I put it on jackstands and have a friend fire it up while I'm under it. Hold your hands about an inch from the exhaust and feel all the joints..any air moving..you have a leak there. Usually what you find is that you can hear the exhaust through the single wall flex.

    yea i used band clamps i think they look tacky especially on my crossover but maybe that is what i hear i have the factory flex pipe that comes on the speed daddy headers maybe im just not used to having a cat but when i get a chance ill jack it up and try out your guys recommended techniques thanks !

    since I bolted up the sd header im pretty sure that the main exhaust piece I had taken off held the cat im getting a p0420 code is that why because I have no cat? how will it affect my cars performance ad also cann I get rid of it with my obd2 scanner and be safe?

    Yup because you have no cat. Want to know a cheap way to fix that google spark plug fouler trick.... Or only other way would be to get the code deleted in the PCM
