Define irony: I have a SEL on, but can't figure out what the error code is because apparently my OBD-II connector has no power! Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

check your lighter fuse, the obd2 port is powered off the same fuse.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

I have a similar issue going on...but I checked my fuses and even replaced it just to be sure and still nada....scanner says "communication line terminated due to over current protection"...car runs fine...but the light bothers me....happened around the same time that my airbag light came on lol
Hope yours is a simple fix my friend :-)

Lighter works fine, power outlet works fine; just no juice to the OBD-II connector. I'll recheck my fuses, but if the lighter's working, I don't see how it could be blown. Thanks for the input, guys! Anyone else?

check the wires on the back of the obd port, (wires break off sometimes) also make sure the inside of the plug is clean, no dirt or lint inside it or anything that could keep it from connecting.

Mine did this once. Turned out my PCM was messed up. It worked fine with everything else except reading and writing to it. Had to replace it.
