So the power steering is whining when I turn again, it was happening awhile ago and I replaced the fluid with lucas oil power steering fix and it stopped the noise for quite awhile, but its doing it again, i havent tried taking it out and replacing it again but I have checked it and its not low. I did have a ps leak before which was supposedly fixed but for all I know could be slightly doing it still but Im not sure, my rack and pinion is worn and will need replacing eventually but that wouldnt be the cause would it? thanks

If air is getting into the system then it can whine. Went through this on an 03 Imp that had the return line leaking. After fixing the leak I went through 3 or 4 sessions of driving the car, then jacking it up and turning lock to lock 4 times, then driving again, rinse and repeat. Each time the whine got less and less until it finally got worked out. I had read online that this was common and was skeptical on the proceedure but it turns out it worked. PS is quiet to this day.

If you suspect a leak then I'd start by cleaning all the lines and pump off and then check again for leaks. If no leaks found then try the above and see if you can get it to quiet down. When I replaced the rack on my 00 GT it whined a bit until I did the above as well. Now it's nice an quiet.

As of now I only replaced the fluid again, I think I do have a leak because it was low and the fluid I took out was recent too, but I cant get it fixed anytime soon soooo

Add another bottle of Lucas and see if it helps. I nursed my old rack along like that for almost 2 years and it stopped 95% of the leaks but required more than 1 bottle. Basically anytime the system was low I'd throw Lucas in it.
