Overheating issue please help

just looking for some answers if anyone has them i will try and describe this the best I can but the car has been having overheating issues for a while now I replaced the upper rad hose and it stopped for a little while now its starting up again the is a leak right by the water pump it shoots out antifreeze it looks like it coming out of a little tube going into the block. but it hasn't been leaking bad lately. I have to replace the gasket i was told from the dealership also. but the car always raised in temperature when i was stopped as soon as i give her gas it goes down. someone also told me that's water pump? so i don't know what else to do it doesn't seem like there's any water going through the top rad hose at all and when i put water in today it spit it out it has never done that it would always take it.

Yea, coolant elbows. The most likely cause of the coolant getting hot when stopped and then going down when you start going is low coolant level, and seeing that you have a leak, 2+2=4, right? So, replace your coolant elbows, refill with appropriate coolant, bleed air from coolaning system, drive the car a couple days and chceck for leaks, and monitor coolant level in overflow jug.

If you get aluminium elbows be gentle. You can break the timing cover. Theres a reason gm stopped making cast elbows.

How many miles are on the vehicle? Remove the accessory belt and spin the water pump by hand, can you feel side to side play? There may be a chance replacing the water pump at the same time wouldn't be a bad idea.
I just changed my cousin's water pump/heater hose elbows on his 07 GT with 107k miles, today. It was the original pump which straight up seized yesterday and threw/jammed the belt between the oil filter and crank pulley.
You could easily feel just how worn out the bearing was.

I haven't heard any issues regarding the newly released aluminum heater hose units.
Now on the other hand, some SII engine's had the horizontal bolt / 140 amp alternator bracket that it itself installed into the water pump inlet / timing cover and only used an elbow for the coolant coming out of the intake manifold.
If you weren't gentle, those would break off in the timing cover, condemning the entire alternator bracket to the scrap yard.
