I just changed the fuel filter today. Like most who started using E85, a Tahoe fuel filter is used.

With the Tahoe filter the flow direction is reversed. Still works and never heard of any issues.

My question is, is there another E85 filter that will work with the GP and have the right flow direction?

If not, I was thinking of getting extensions for the fuel line and do it the right way.

Not sure if anything would be different with the right flow direction.

    Me too.

I'm just curious if there is another filter with the right flow direction and if there would be a difference

^this? Only thing I can think of is if you plan on neglecting your car for years to come and not changing the filter out regularly. Most people that I know converted and used stock filters with no problems.

Then I wonder why when guys started to go E85, the biggest thing was having to use a Tahoe filter

    Isn't it less restriction?

I have an E85 filter. It's working great for my billion mile neglected car......from the shelf it's sitting on!
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I usually run a full tank of e85 through a car that has never had it, then throw the tahoe filter in after.

That's all I'm trying to understand is why. It may be made of stainless perhaps? Last time I changed my 2002 flex fuel Tahoe it looked like a standard silver canister but I didn't pay attention. I know all the rest of the lines are stainless. As far as running backward I would think it would still flow fine just not ideal. Perhaps reduce effective filter media area?

Basically instead of filling the canister and then going through the filter then out the line... backwards would hit filter first then fill the canister... if there was gonna be a problem I would think it would show itself. Like fueling issues or burning up fuel pumps to keep pressure.
