I was driving home today and my low coolant light came on, I looked under the car to find coolant dripping at a high rate from where the water pump is, I felt around the pump and it was dry and the belts are clean, the bypass elbow is not broken and no leaks from the hoses that I can see, it has a new radiator. Like I said its comeing from the bottom of the engine somewhere but can pin point it cause its dripping from the oil pan but staying on the passenger side of the car. Am I missing something or is there a wheeping hole on the water pump I should check? are there any other things Im missing here? This is a 97 gp gt with 152,000 miles 3.8 nonturbo nonsupercharged. can anyone point me in a direction befor I decide to spend thousands takeuing it to the dealer?

The weep hole is on the bottom of the water pump i think. Might as well change the water pump and coolant elbows.

if it was weeping, would it be a lot that comes out or just a steady drip?

Below your alternator tensioner is the other one. If you take off the alt tensioner to replace them, they are both there.

Pull the alternator. Pull the alternator bracket. Replace elbows. Put back together.

Actually you don't. Chiltons will tell you less than you currently know.

Do an advanced search on the word "e asy" without the space and my screen name. Pull up the how to on changing coolant elbows. Has pictures of the actual parts

I look around, maybe wrong keywoerds . I was out looking at it and there is fresh coolant underneath the belt tensioner so.I'm betting your right, that second tube you.get in the pkg is that one for that? Or do I buy a different tube? Yes u do know where to look lol I used to come here a lot when I had problems.

do tell how you changed the top elbow and didnt know about the lower one?, the alt bracket has to come of to change them.

if you drive a 97 or 98, you have a cast lowr elbow on the alt bracket, steal the large O ring off the new elbow, then put it on the cast elbow.
