Periodically unscrews 1 Phillips head screw, knocks filter out, puts back on.
    Clean.

We don't need no fancy pre filters.

I would guess it would double the life of an amsoil air filter. There not oiled like K n N and let more air through than K n N.Amsoil sells the blue mesh sock but they want $30.00 for it, going to improvise.

Aem 9"x4" Conical Dryflow Air Filter Element 21 2059DK | eBay

$14.75 + $7.50 Shipping. I just order 2 and keep one on the shelf, dry flow, solid filter, cheap.
Pre-filter is just more restriction from the supercharger, and its just one more thing to clean, who has time for that???

Those are so the filter can't suck up water. I usually see them on AEM and Injen filters mounted low in the bumper. Think there called a hydroshield.
