How much about will a plog usually lower KR?. I know headers will lower it more but just looking at the simpler install of a plog. Thanks.

It kinda depends on how much of your KR issue is from flow of exhaust.

Ohh got it. My engine is stock except for a K&N CAI, i just did plugs and wires about 10,000 miles ago, always run 93 and still see about 5* of KR at WOT. Is that normal in a stock engine?

5* on a stock engine is pretty normal.

My car saw 7* while stock.

According to what ive seen in other people and on zzps website it lowers about 2* on avg. I have one and have no way right on detecting knock but car did seem to breathe better and better acceleration.

    '04+'s don't have a U-Bend...so that's a benefit.

Get a larger downpipe and the PLOG...I'm sure it'd take it away.

For the money you blow on a PLOG/DP...you can get headers for the cheaper on EBay and kill even more KR.

I know headers would be more beneficial and about the same price, but there a little more involved with installation and i feel like a little bit of overkill for what im looking for. I'm not looking into deep modding the car i'm more of just looking to prolong the life of the engine.

Plog won't make much of a difference. The biggest restriction is the downpipe.

Then I wouldn't even waste my time with the PLOG and throw a 3" downpipe on it and be done. You don't move enough air to justify it anyways if you just want more longevity out of the car.

Okay thanks for all the help. I'm also assuming it wouldn't help too much with MPG's.
