    Hi everyone.
i have a 2005 grand prix gt and love it. Recently I've noticed some squealing noise coming from the front. When I steer the car slightly to the left, it squeals worse and right doesn't squeal at all. I mean slightly to either side. I also noticed a slight pulsation of the pedal at slower speeds. So this morning I took the caliper off and the pads. The piston was pretty tough to push in but came off easy enough. The shim on the piston side seems to be separating on the bottom slightly. I put everything back together and went for a drive and it seemed the same or a bit more pronounced. It only happens now and then too since I do mostly short drives. To be fair the sound that made me look to the rotors and brakes was that it seemed to go slightly with the pulsating. The pads still have plenty of life so I'm not quite sure what the problem would be. I had the passenger side caliper replaced by a mechanic friend who is no l onager in the area so I'm looking to do some work on my own. A Haynes manual combined with a can do attitude and a wealth of knowledge from the good people on here will hopefully help me with most mechanical issues. So as of now I'm sort of stuck do I replace everything on the the front, new pads and rotors as well as a caliper or am I way off on this and stick to my electrical work lol?

I would say the calipers are fine and that if anything the brake rotors may be warped and in need of replacment to get rid of the pulse in the pedal. The pads could be low enough to where a sqeaker is touching.

You might also want to check the rear brakes as the pads might be getting low and causing the noise.
