Re: Constant Electrical Drain Running Down The Battery
Did a draw test today and it came out 0.08 amps on the 10A setting. Anyone know what the draw should be? Does this sound like way too much? I checked the battery and it was 75% charged, the alternator is charging normal and I also disconnected the alt and it did nothing to lower the draw. I will get my son to assist me tomorrow and see if e can pull some fuses to see which one is causing the pull. I was thinking that I read somewhere that the stock configuration draw on these were 0.02?
Re: Constant Electrical Drain Running Down The Battery
pulled some fuses today and found a 0.04 drop in the current draw when I pulled the BTSI fuse. Does anyone have a clue on this one? Does this have anything to do with the fact that the shifter will move to any gear without the car being started?
Re: Constant Electrical Drain Running Down The Battery
Talked to a GM expert mechanic (cost me $25 at just answer) he said that my key cylinder isnt turning everything off and needs to be replaced. This was my initial thought from the beginning but found myself stirred toward the electrnic part of the ignition switch and when that didnt work I found myself chasing rabbits. Hope this works. Will update later.
Re: Constant Electrical Drain Running Down The Battery
Tumbler came in. Replaced the tumbler and everything seems to be just as it should. Now the key only comes out when in the off position, you have to push key in to go to ACC position. Don't know if the tumbler had anything to do with it but the Boost gauge works now. No more chiming when you open the door and battery isnt going dead so Im pleased. The HUD still doesnt work but will tackle that at a later date.
Here are the relearn procedure that is necessary with new tumbler and keys.
With a master passkey III key (Black), turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Observe the Security telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn off.
Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds .
Repeat steps 1-3 two more times for a total of 3 cycles or 30 minutes .
IMPORTANT: The vehicle learns the key transponder information and/or passwords on the ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
With a master passkey III key, start the vehicle. The vehicle has now learned the key transponder information and the PCM has now learned the fuel continue password.
It worked like a charm:th_thumbsup-wink:

Good God man. I'm having the same issue, and I came on here to get some answers. You're so insulting, and rude. I guess only people with an MBA know how to read, and write properly?. I guess education didn't teach manners, respect, and humility. These people are trying to help, and you're trying to have a juvenile pissing contest with them. Grow up.

???
I'm curious...Who are you responding to in a thread that's been dead for 4 years?!
Re: Constant Electrical Drain Running Down The Battery
Why are you responding to my (as pointed out by you) response to a thread that has been dead for 4 years? Your POS response shows your lack of intelligence. It sounded better in your head dude, so next time keep it there.
