I got my JMB intake,3.4 pulley, catless down pipe 180 stat, belt 104 plugs, ready to send PCM in for reprogramming.according to wbody site this is cool, but his email said no you will have knock with 3.4 pulley. ? Will a power log eliminate this knock ? Or should I just keep factory stat and swap for 3.5 . Is the problem only with the front cylinders exhausting efficiently causing knock and piston damage for them to make half a header system ? If $ weren't a part of the equation it would be simple and get the plog. I guess the question is how much will I really be gaining / loosing between 3.4/3.5 and is it worth it . What would you do ? Trade 104's for 605's ? Thanks.

You already have a thread with lots of info in it.

You need to read up on how to mod a car and not just read what a website that sells parts has to say.

I have already told you that a 3.4 with only a downpipe will likely knock, you need to have more exhaust flow.

I've also said that 104 spark plugs are too cold and you should run 605's.

I always thought 104s were better. Time to switch them out for 605s.

When it comes to spark plugs, you always run the hottest spark you can for your mod level.

Also get rid of the 3.4 pully before you chip a piston..... You need AT LEAST the mods you have and headers for a 3.4 with a gen3 m90.... without even a plog I would say MAYBE a 3.6.... Heck im running a 3.6 on my gen5 blower, rockers, plog / dp, 180 tstat, Top swap, and a hand made tune. Even with all that I still see the occasional blip of kr.... but I am at 3200+ feet atm in college.... Back home at 1500 feet altitude a 3.6 is a tad bit too much and i see fairly consistant 2 degrees of kr.... but I run e85 at home so its ok

Eliminate your kock requires money and surgery I don't suggest going that route and just be who you are.

But you'll probably be pushing running a 3.4 on your set up I imagine your still going to have quite a bit of knock even with a plog. I would check the safety modding threads there's already tons of info in there.
