Hey guys, just bought a 92 SE coupe 3.1 auto, I noticed when I looked at the car that the tach didnt work and the check gauges light was on. Im assuming they are related. After buying it and driving it home I didnt make it out of the parking lot before the check engine light came on as well. I finally got time today to check the codes and all I got was 42 (ICM).
The car hasnt stalled on me yet but I havent driven all that far with it yet. It does run like it needs a tune up at idle.
Is it possible that the cause of the tach not working and the code 42 are the same part?
If so could it be a crank position sensor?
Where does the tach get its signal from on these ignitions?
