Hello everyone I'm new to Grand Prix forum. I have a question about my 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix v6 with 40,000 miles. My GP quit on me one day while driving down the road. When the engine died it acted as if I was running out of gas and it gradually lost power. After I tried to crank it, It turns over but wont start. It acts like the engine is starving for gas. Sometimes it will almost crank but then shut right off. When I turn the key to the acc position I can hear the Fuel pump coming on. I am totally baffled by this problem because no check engine light ever came on. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem with this Grand Prix
!!!!UPDATE: Took my car to have it diagnosed and it has been determined that my PCM needs to be reflashed. I have no idea what that means and the mechanic doesn't know why it happened. He said the fuel injectors are not getting fuel to them and its because the PCM is not working properly. He also told me that only the dealership can reflash the PCM. Does this sound legitimate???
