NEED RESPONSE QUICK! fuel pump fuse blowing, part throttle hesitation

Buying a 2000 gtp with a mere 6800 miles on it. Going 4hrs away to pick it up. Apparently the fuel pump fuse blew yesterday and the car has a intermittent part throttle stumble that comes and goes as it pleases. Any help would be appreciated. The car does have fresh gas and seems to perform under throttle fine. ALso, looking for a list of recalls and tsb's on this vehicle. Thanks

Throttle stumble could be maf, does it have a tune? if fuel pump fuse blew...replace it and see if it blows again.

Hasn't blown again yet. WIth 6800 miles I doubt it has a tune. I was thinking maybe it might have some crap on the maf.

What about a bad low speed fuel pump resistor?

Ended up being the fuel pump. Of course we spent 3 hours checking everything we possibly could think of, thinking there was no way a car with nearly no miles on it could have a bad pump lol! Soo being out in the middle of nowhere with no stores open and no parts, a friend of a friend of a friend rebuilds a lot of these cars and just happened to havea roll over 10 minutes away from us. We got the pump right before it got dark, got back and put it in. Luckily the car fired upand fuel psi was rock steady with pressure rise under boost. THE CAR RUNS GREAT! I wasn't too thrilled about leaving my buddy with my broken down piece of crap though, thats a whole nother story.

Only problem is the sending unit is ****. I've thought about doing a walbro pump in the original hanger and installing a hotwire kit. Any daily drivers using this setup? For the price of a new GM I can do this setup and never have to worry about a lean condition again.

oh, and 29mpg figured after topping off after our trip. THis was even with making a stop and strolling through 2 small towns. Only gripe I have about it is it seems like a gotta stand on the brakes to get them to lock and it handles like a toboggan

You would think with the low miles you wouldn't run into problems, but the car is still aged unfortunately. Restoration guys experience this all the time when they have low mileage cars. Dry rot will still get the best of ya. Glad to hear the problem was resolved.

Not as much as a car that has had it's ass handed to it by some kid in high school that's for sure. First one I've found that isn't full of those ****in stupid ricer mods like chrome grilles and mufflers cut off. I love the car. It's not fast and I think it brakes and handles like a two-ton tizzy. For what I wanted the car for, it does the job.
