1997 GTP, low washer fluid pressure. I removed the hose from the pump and ran compressed air through and all 4 nozzles are completely free and all lines are leak free. The pump sounds strong when I run it, but the fluid simply dribbles out of all 4 nozzles. any ideas?

Maybe the holes in the nozzles are too big? Maybe it's a week aftermarket pump? I had a similar issue where the drivers side barely came out but the pass side was great. I replaced both wiper arms since you can't get just the nozzles and it fixes my problem.

Yeah, I remember actually reading your post. I dont think it's an issue of nozzle size, but i'm gonna look into that too...any possbilities with the pump intake? its a pain to get at so I need to set aside time to get at it and drain the tank, but I love entertaining all ideasOriginally Posted by Swiggles

If you have the tucked in the bumper style then its really not that bad, you just remove the front part of the wheel well and it's right there. I'd get a Ac delco pump off rockauto or amazon.com and swap it in.
If there's some dirt at the bottom of the tank then it could've gotten in the pump and is clogging it up. Or if there's a crack in the lines somewhere that's just letting a little bit out that you don't see.

park on a dry spot in your drive way and hold the washer for awhile.... move you car and see if theres fluid on the ground.... if no, take a blow gun and blow into the nozzles cleaning out the dirt... if it still is weak then id get a new pump

take the hose off the spray tips on the wiper arms, run the pump see how fast the fluid comes out.
the tips like to clog up and dribble out, i have one thats like this. ( tried to clear it but nothing has worked) regals have 2 per arm, so the one that does spray covers the window enough. not sure on the gp's on spray tip #'s per arm.

Yeah, this car has 2 per arm. I ran compressed air through the entire system right from the where the hose connects to the pump and it runs freely through all 4 nozzles. I removed the pump and ran some air through that as well. The fluid runs through the pump well enough but for whatever reason there is just no pressure. And it really sucks because we just got a dumping of snow so the drive on the highway is really gonna suck without washer fluid.
I wish there was a way to test the pump outside the car with a multimeter or something so i dont waste time and money on a new pump. Because this one sounds like it operating perfectly fine.

if you were to leave wiper fluid in the lines, then hit it with air, does it spray out or still dribble out?
air will flow freely where water will not in this case. could be the pump. they are like 12 bucks and 15 minutes to change. not a real big deal.
could even be a dirty plug connection causing low voltage to the pump.

when there' fluid in the lines, and air is applied, it sprays out as it should...i'm leaning more towards a malfunction with the pump because in my experience, the pump sounds as if it is working well, just not performing properly. I'm going to check the lines tomorrow for any blockages to eliminate all probabilities.

well, discovered the problem (i believe)...in the hose coming from the pump to the firewall, there was a crude splice out of crappy steel, and the splice rusted so badly that it prevented fluid from pressurizing beyond it...gonna get some new tube tomorrow and replace the whole section
