I was in the scrap yard found 99 GTP is there a point to swapping the calipers, trailing arms, sway bars and fans to my 1997 GT or are they the same? I heard somewhere they had better calipers and solid sway bar but not sure if it is true.
Thanks

not unless they're super low miles or something.. a new and upgraded sway bar isn't even that expensive. Its probably junk on that gtp.
It's all the same
Damn! any idea what cars would be worth scavenging to upgrade mine? mainly interested in breaks and suspension. I don't want to go with the larger rotor conversion (I read on hear somewhere that it makes the Cv joints or seals wear out faster)
that doesnt really make sense to me. the cv joint still slips into the same hub. the only thing worth taking is maybe the supercharger and stuff up top if ur interested in a top swap. or if u find like a 40th ann gp and then u could get roof rails and tips and sell those.
The idea I was told is more weight on the joints
your thinking about lowering the car, then the cv joints are out of alignment.
brakes, they have nothing to do with the cv joints at all.
stock brakes blow, simple F body brakes makes a world of difference. i just got to use mine in snow for the first time last week, the abs didnt even kick in till i really stood on them, and even then it stopped quite fast.
the stock brakes from my past winters were trash, stopping in snow was a joke. and when i first got the car, i did install new pads and rotors, still sucked.
If you want to scavenge parts...then start reading up on what parts we swap from other cars.
Monte sway bars, Regal STB's, PA/Monte caliper brackets... keep in mind I'm being very vague. Do your research and you'll come out of the JY with a plethora of low cost mods.
Bill what about what I been told that larger rotors and calipers will stress things? and my next question kust to confirm monte rotors and calipers are all I need, or I can go with F bodies if I modify the bracket
